Le terme de géopolitique désigne en fait tout ce qui concerne les rivalités de pouvoirs ou d’influences sur des territoires et les populations qui y vivent.
Istilah geopolitik merujuk pada segala sesuatu yang berkaitan dengan rivalitas kekuasaan ataupun pengaruh pada wilayah atau teritori dan populasi yang hidup di sana.
Mencatat tentang geopolitik bukan sebatas mencatat tentang kekuatan “otot” negara dan aspek-aspek geografinya, tetapi juga tentang kekuatan-kekuatan lainnya: penghidupan dan aspirasi rakyatnya, konfigurasi ekonomi dan politiknya, serta citra atas dirinya dan entitas di luar dirinya.
